Suzuki M50

After 4 long months of impatient waiting, I am finally the proud owner of a Suzuki M50. And boy, has the wait has been worth it!

People that know me know that I have always wanted to own a motorcycle, but I never got the time to go through the motions to get one. My main gripe was the ability (or inability) to take it to work, since I would never get time in the weekends to ride it. So, when a co-worker mentioned the free parking in Court Street (over the hash marks), I couldn’t wait anymore. After a little bit of hunting, I found a brand new (albeit 2007 model) M50 for $1500 under MSRP. Sweet!

I have already put in over 200 miles in 4 days, and every mile has been awesome. Especially the 60 mile ride back home from the dealer on the AA highway was pretty neat. You really do need to be on a motorcycle to appreciate the wide open spaces of this country. It is such a blessing to have a whole lane for yourself, after all the time I spent fighting for that little space back in India.

The bike is a black M50, 50 cubic inches (that is a little over 800cc) V-twin engine, fuel injected, soft-tail styled rear shocks, black alloy wheels and black engine. All it needs is a little powder coating on the pipes, and I am all set with an almost-nightrod-look for one-third the price. From the Suzuki Samurai I had back in India, this is a huge jump, but so far the bike seems to handle perfectly well.
