Quote of the week — Meister Eckhart

October 12, 2007

Quote’s are very similar to blogs, only more subtle and succinct. Either is a medium in which you can get a glimpse of the person quoting/writing it, and either is used to propagate one’s ideas and views.

Hence forth, every Friday will be ‘Quote of the week’ day. Without further ado, here is the first one…

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, ‘thank you,’ that would suffice.”

Meister Eckhart

“As they know themselves to dwell in the world of time and yet to be capable of transcending it, so the Ultimate Reality, they think, inhabts yet inconceivably exceeds all that they know to be — as the soul of the musician controls and exceeds not merely each note of the flowing melody, but also the whole of the symphony in which these cadences must play their part.”

Evelyn Underhill as quoted by John Titor
    San Fransisco, 1967.
